A journey on the Bellarine Railway is a unique and historic experience linking Drysdale on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula with the seaside township at Queenscliff and we offer a variety of differant services to ensure that your visit to us is a memorable experience.

Park n Ride - Leave your car at Drysdale Staion where there is ample parking, toilets, BBQ facilities and a great childrens playground; and visit the Bellarine Railway Museum before boarding your heritage Steam or diesel train for the 45 minute journey to Queenscliff and its attractions, or an afternoon at the beach.

Sit back in the comfortable leather seats as the train traverses rural farmland on its way to Queenscliff and skirts the foreshore around Swan Bay during the 16 km trip.

The Bellarine Railway is all about heritage steam trains. We have a current fleet of 10 locomotives, and a number of these are operational at any one time. You will have the opportunity to ride behind locomotives from each Australian state, and sometimes in unique combinations such as a Tasmanian locomotive, teamed with a Western Australian locomotive hauling a train of heritage carriages from Tasmania and Queensland.

Variety and experience is what we provide, and importantly for you, a great day out.

It is difficult to maintain all locomotives in working order and the costs associated with maintaining a fleet of this size are high. Over 60% of our ticket revenue is ploughed straight back into maintaining our infrastructure and vehicle fleet. So if your favourite locomotive is not available on your current visit, it possibly will be when you join us again.
